SolidWorks Essentials Plus Training

» Course Description: The goal of this 5-day SolidWorks Essentials Plus training course is to teach you how to use the SolidWorks mechanical CAD software to build parametric models of parts and assemblies and how to make drawings of those parts and assemblies. This course is designed around a process or task based approach to training. Rather than focus on individual features and functions, a process-based training course emphasizes the process and procedures you follow to complete a particular task. By utilizing case studies to illustrate these processes, you learn the necessary commands, options and menus in the context of completing a design task.

This course covers topics in the creation and editing of parts, assemblies and drawings in SolidWorks CAD software. A few of the topics that are covered are:

• The user interface and basic menu commands
• Extruded and revolved features
• Thin-walled part design - plastics and castings
• Configurations and design tables for parts
• Part editing and problem solving
• Bottom up assembly design
• Detail drawing creation

» SolidWorks Essentials Plus Training Prerequisites
Students attending this course are expected to have the following skills, and to have completed an overview of the course material.

• Mechanical/Industrial design experience
• Experience with the Windows™ operating system
• To increase the value you receive from your SolidWorks training course, please complete lessons 1 -3 of the SolidWorks Getting Started tutorial located in the "Help Tutorials" within your SolidWorks CAD software.
