» Configurations of Tables on SolidWorks Drawings
Do you ever show your design tables on a SolidWorks drawing? Would you like to customize their look easily? Avoid tedious hide/unhide within excel, by creating display configurations!
Here is how:
- Create design table as normal with dimensions and suppressions
- Insert table into drawing
- Create a "Custom View" for the default, maybe "3D Model" with:
- View->Custom View->Add->(give configuration name) - Hide all rows and columns not needed for desired table
- Create a "Custom View" for this table, maybe "Drawing" with:
- View->Custom View->Add->(give configuration name) - Now any time you want to edit your design table, change to "3D Model View" by:
- View->Custom View->(3D Model) - And before closing, just change to "Drawing by:
- View->Custom View->(Drawing)
Bonus:
Use these "Custom Views" to more easily manage large tables that are either long or wide. Or use to organize a large table by certain areas of the
SolidWorks model, such as "Machined" or "Cast". You can even create a "Custom View" that takes you to a certain cell if needed.
