Simpleware will Present Software at the 5th World Congress of Biomechanics (WCB2006)

(PRWEB) July 15, 2006 -- Simpleware will demonstrate its software at the 5th World Congress of Biomechanics (WCB2006) to be held at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Munich, Germany, on July 29 – August 4 2006. Conference participants interested in Simpleware’s software and services are invited to visit the Company Stand (#111), and attend a special session on image-based meshing which will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006:

Company session “Image-based meshing: from scan to mesh in minutes“
Tuesday, August 1, 2006
17:00-17:45
Room R0.0056.

The session will showcase a number of different case studies which demonstrate the potential of the software for a wide variety of applications in biomechanics. The examples will also illustrate the ability to complete such complex problems with a high degree of accuracy but in a fraction of the time taken by other approaches.

Image-based meshing is opening up exciting new possibilities for the application of computational mechanics methods (e.g. FEA and CFD) to problems in biomechanics and bio-fluid dynamics. Converting 3D datasets (such as from CT, MRI and Ultrasound) into high quality meshes is becoming the modus operandi for studying the response of complex biological structures.

Simpleware Ltd has developed innovative mesh generation software which converts any medical 3D scanner data directly into meshes used for Rapid Prototyping, Finite Element Analysis, and Computer Aided Design. Important benefits over competing products are:
• Simpleware software is specifically designed to cope with the most complex geometric and topological data, thus achieving more accurate results.
• Simpleware is the only software that can mesh multiple structures and define contact surfaces between them. Surfaces are perfectly conforming without gaps or overlaps.
• The user has the ability to assign material properties within a given structure based on signal strength, for example bone density based on Hounsfield number.
• The user can import and interactively position CAD models within the image data, e.g. for inserting stents or implants to simulate post-operative performance.
• Simpleware software has an intuitive user interface, which makes it easy to learn and operate.
• Simpleware software is backed by full technical support from experienced engineers.

About Simpleware
Simpleware is the world leader in the conversion of 3D images (as obtained from MRI, CT, Micro-CT for example) into high quality Finite Element, CAD and Rapid Prototyping models. Simpleware software produces high quality meshes from 3D data in a fraction of the time taken with alternative software. Unlike other approaches, Simpleware provides complete software solutions from importing 3D image through to export to commercial FEA and CFD solvers. The ease and unprecedented accuracy with which models can be generated from 3D datasets have opened up image based numerical analysis to a variety of applications. The company offers researchers and engineers who are dissatisfied with the time they currently spend on generating good quality computer models, a faster and more advanced solution from 3D data to computer design and simulation.

About the 5th World Congress of Biomechanis (WCB2006)
The 5th World Congress offers the latest investigative results from the world’s best investigators in all areas of biomechanics. Special emphasis will be placed on state-of-the-art technology and medical applications. Biomechanics is a field that is expanding and developing at amazing speed. Our program has been designed to present a broad range of topics, both established and groundbreaking from solid to fluid to cellular mechanics; from motion sports mechanics to automobile crash tests; from orthopedic, cardiovascular and neural biomechanics to biomechanics in nature. It is my hope that scientists and students from around the world will have here the opportunity to learn from each other and take away ideas for new directions in biomechanics.
