Proteus Data Systems, a developer of data transformation and visualization software today announced Proteus One GFX, a retargetable graphics rendering system for Windows. Proteus One GFX allows application developers to generate graphical data for delivery in multiple formats and devices.

Designed to be high-speed and light weight, Proteus One GFX is based on an extensible architecture that allows images to be repurposed using optional input and output filters. The first in this series of filters will provide support for generating fully editable PDF output for electronic document distribution and printing.

Typical applications for Proteus One GFX include adding format support to graphics design and visualization applications (illustration, CAD/CAM, GIS), archiving solutions (microfilm, repositories) and reporting and statistical analysis tools.
