Most companies, recruitment agencies, government offices, schools, universities, clubs etc use the Portable Document Format expecting others to fill in forms by hand or in one uninterrupted online session. The format simply does not allow you to alter or save the form, to add notes or texts. If an original PDF file gets lost, no one can ever alter the document again. The inventor of the PDF Editor concept, CAD-KAS is launching a new version of PDF Editor. Head of Development Christian Kassler claims PDF Editor 2.3 to be “the most comprehensive PDF post-editing tool on the market.”
The open Portable Document Format (PDF) developed by Adobe has become the de-facto standard for forms on Windows, Mac and Linux. PDFs are popular because they result in a safe and much more compact document, maintaining the original layout. The user only needs a free PDF-reader like "CAD-KAS PDF Reader" or "Adobe Acrobat Reader" to display the document on a PC. These Readers are available on most computers or can be downloaded off the web for free.
Christian Kassler states: “Adobe’s costly Acrobat Professional offers only minimal post-editing features”. His company CAD-KAS sensed a huge opportunity, selling "PDF Editor" with a wide range of post-editing features at a fraction of the cost. The application displays PDF files and allows modifying texts as well as images. Unlike other PDF tools these changes can be saved into the PDF file. The CAD-KAS team sees many applications for “PDF Editor”: “People loose original PDF files, for example due to crashes or when changing systems. With PDF Editor it is very easy to apply amendments like changing an address or telephone number or updating data tables and pictures. The original PDF file is no longer required.”
All relevant features of PDF Editor can be accessed through an illustrated task bar. The user can start modifying PDF files in an instant, moving text blocks, rotating them or changing their size. Editing, scaling or deleting pictures takes only a few mouse clicks. Image layers can be changed, bringing another image to the foreground. The option to apply notes or text comes in extremely handy for all PC users plagued by requests to fill-in forms, as these can actually be save into the PDF file. “Another feature exclusive to PDF Editor are predefined stamp messages like CONFIDENTIAL or INTERNAL USE ONLY" adds Christian Kassler, a feature that he expects to proof popular among the many PDF-users in public administration and the corporate world.
Many “PDF Editor” features like changing the font type, underlining texts, marking read-signs or filling in forms can ease the burden of the modern, PDF dominated work life. The application allows deleting individual pages from multi-page PDFs changing their order or even adding pages. "CAD-KAS PDF Editor" enables those who wish, to change the PDF’s source code or to create access protected PDFs.
