Mark Dziersk, a Fellow of the Industrial Designers Society of America (FIDSA), joins laga, a design and innovation partner to the world's leading companies, as vice president of industrial design from the Chicago-based international product design firm of Herbst LaZar Bell Inc. In his new position, Dziersk will provide strategic direction and creative horsepower for the firm, with offices in Chicago, Cincinnati and New York City. A renowned industrial designer, Dziersk has earned over 100 U.S. product design and engineering patents and garnered numerous awards throughout his distinguished career.

Dziersk, a Fellow of the Industrial Designers Society of America (FIDSA), most recently was Senior Vice President of design for the Chicago-based international product design firm of Herbst LaZar Bell Inc. (HLB). In his new position, Dziersk will provide strategic direction and creative horsepower for laga, with offices in Chicago, Cincinnati and New York City.

Previous to HLB, Dziersk was executive editor of Innovation Magazine, and adjunct professor at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence and the New England School of Art & Design in Boston. He is currently adjunct professor for the Master of Product Development Program at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and was a founding member of the Design Council of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dziersk has earned over 100 U.S. product design and engineering patents and garnered numerous awards; among them, the Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA), ID Magazine's Annual Design Review Design Distinction, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design's Good Design Award, and the Appliance Manufacturer's Excellence in Design.

A 20-year member of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), Dziersk has held several leadership positions, including president in 1998, and has served in various council and board positions for the Association of Professional Design Firms (APDF).

Dziersk is a frequent commentator on design trends, innovation and the strategic value of design in the national media and as a lecturer at events, conferences and universities worldwide.

Dziersk earned a BS in Industrial Design from the University of Michigan.
