ITU Finds a Breakthrough in OSHA Arc Flash Analysis

(PRWEB) May 4, 2006 -- ITU or Industrial Training University a long time player in Electrical Engineering and Training services has developed a process to complete the OSHA Arc Flash Analysis and Labeling process in a manner that allows the complete calculations and labeling to be done in less time, less effort, and with more accuracy than has happened in the past. "We looked at what we were doing, as well as what other competitors were doing, and said, this thing's out of hand" said Dave Carpenter, engineer and director of the Arc Flash Engineering group for ITU based in Sullivan, Indiana. "We've been doing this the same way, mainly because this is the way eveybody does it... but that dosen't make it right" he added. So with that, a new process was spawned. ITU is able to cut out a lot of the cost associated with the Data gathering process and add a huge amount of accuracy at the same time. "Working with the technology as we have, gave us a big heads up" Dave said, allowing them to use technology and common sense to allow customers to be able to gain compliance with the new NFPA70E based OSHA arc flash regulations. ITU offers complete turnkey arc flash anaylsis and labeling for about $50 per electrical panel. "If you have a hundred or so panels, it's about $50 per panel. If you have a thousand it's much less than that." according to Mr. Carpenter.

 “  Obsolete
The idea is that you don't have to take out a bank loan to get in complianec with the OSHA 1910 regulations...but you do have to get in compliance.

OSHA and NFPA say's that all non-dwelling electrical panels, breaker panels, fuse panels, motor control centers, electrical dis-connects, as well as others, must have the new ANSI z535 approved label. The older red and black on white labels that say "Danger 480 Volts" are considered "Obsolete" by OSHA.
