Graphics Systems Corporation to Hold Second Annual SolidWorks Summer School for High School Students
April 17, 2005 -- Graphics Systems Corporation, headquartered in Menomonee Falls, WI is pleased to announce it will once again hold SolidWorks Summer School, a CAD class for high school students. The class will be held 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Monday for four consecutive weeks from July 11 through August 1, 2005 at the Menomonee Falls office located at W133N5138 Campbell Drive. The class has been steeply discounted to only $250. Schools can also nominate students for a SolidScholarship. Two lucky students will then be chosen to attend the class free.
This class, officially called SolidWorks Essentials-Parts & Assemblies, is an excellent introduction to SolidWorks, giving the student the skills and knowledge necessary to make full use of SolidWorks' power to model and annotate real products. In addition to the instruction on designing parts, students will receive a free 90-day Personal Edition of SolidWorks software in order to become more familiar with the program outside of class. The class will end with a lesson in rapid prototyping. Students will receive a part printed from the Dimension 3D Printer. The class will be taught by John Setzer, Applications Engineer, and Wisconsin state certified teacher.
“SolidWorks Summer School is a great activity for high schoolers to become engaged in over the summer,” David Kasinskas, president of Graphics Systems Corporation, states. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to introduce students to CAD or further supplement a high school’s CAD curriculum. The students today are the designers and engineers of tomorrow. This class may help some decide they want to use CAD in their future careers.”
