Global Research Technologies, LLC (GRT) has announced its success in ongoing research and development of a proprietary air-capture system to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. GRT was founded in 2004 on the vision of its president, Mr. Allen B. Wright, to commercialize the air-capture concept first published by Professor Klaus Lackner of Columbia University. The company is funded by the Gary Comer Science Foundation. In recent weeks, GRT has moved onto the international stage and is honored to officially introduce its technological promise for reducing CO2 levels around the globe in conjunction with Earth Day 2007. The CO2 air-capture process that GRT has developed is a sophisticated breakthrough beyond earlier concepts and moves the company closer to a commercially-oriented product.

GRT&#s successful working system is of widespread interest now that the global warming crisis has been acknowledged with governments and individuals calling for action. The GRT vision has always been to engineer a sustainable future with regard to CO2 capture, and that vision has become a working demonstration through serious and very creative, very hard work. One of the GRT system&#s unique capabilities is that the units will not be location-bound, making it possible, for example, to remove carbon dioxide emissions emitted from vehicles on streets worldwide with air-capture devices located in remote and environmentally acceptable locations far removed from the CO2 source.

Lackner, the visionary behind the air-capture concept who is also Chair of the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering at Columbia University, explained, I have long believed science and industry have the technological capability to design systems that will capture greenhouse gases and allow us to transition to energies of the future over the long term. GRT&#s working device has progressed far beyond conceptual and far beyond the primitive usage of sodium hydroxide.
