Dr. Katherine Bakeev is CAMO Software Inc's New Chief Scientist

(PRWEB) March 30, 2009 -- CAMO Software Inc., a leading multivariate software and solutions provider, today announced the appointment of Dr. Katherine A. Bakeev as Chief Scientist.

Dr. Katherine A. Bakeev has over twelve years of industrial experience including work in process analytical chemistry with ISP, and as a product specialist for Foss NIRSystems. She holds a PhD in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and a Masters in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology. She has given numerous presentations on the use of near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR).

Katherine has held various positions including Principal Scientist with GlaxoSmithKline, where she led efforts for development and implementation of PAT (NIR, UV-Vis, and Mid-IR) applications for manufacturing. "I am confident that my background and experience with increasing focus in pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing will help CAMO capitalize on its current momentum and focus on Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and Quality by Design (QbD) solutions," says Katherine. Katherine A. Bakeev is editor of the book "Process Analytical Technology: Spectroscopic Tools and Implementation Strategies for the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries".

She is very well known in the North American markets and has expertise in development, implementation of spectroscopic solutions, chemometrics, NIR, and Process Analytical Technology (PAT) for various industries. It will help CAMO to work more closely with its customers, particularly pharmaceutical/ healthcare companies, and help them in implementing PAT, QbD solutions by mentoring and grooming its resources. CAMO Software had recently announced the re-engineering of its entire range of multivariate products to suit a proprietary state-of-art plug-in architecture. This architecture will enable CAMO Software to customize applications and solutions for their existing and potential cross-industry customers.
