AUGI CAD Camp to Co-locate with AEC Science & Technology Federal Event in Washington, D.C.
(PRWEB) June 2, 2006 -- AUGI CAD Camp, a regional learning and networking event for Autodesk Users, produced by Autodesk User Group International organization (AUGI), will present its Washington D.C. event December 5, 2006 alongside the AEC Science & Technology (AEC-ST) Federal conference & exhibition.
Autodesk first revolutionized the software industry with the AutoCAD® product, which introduced drafting on a PC. This paved the way for Autodesk’s continued technology leadership in the building and construction industries, civil engineering and other fields.
AUGI CAD Camps, held regionally throughout the country, provide Autodesk users with intense, targeted training from top instructors in five different training sessions and gives them a look at hot new technology from some of Autodesk’s top third-party software development partners. AUGI CAD Camps provide attendees an excellent opportunity to network with peers and colleagues. In addition, attendees may earn up to five AIA Credits (upon approval).
AEC-ST Federal examines the newest technology tools, processes and strategies for both private and public sector AEC professionals. In AEC-ST Federal’s comprehensive conference December 5-7, 2006, architects, engineers, contractors, and members of the entire project team will learn how to leverage and share accurate information, in multiple data formats, throughout each stage of the project lifecycle of the built environment.
Educational topics from industry and government experts include Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its effect on projects; technology advancements to produce accurate designs; collaboration tools that save construction and facility planning and management costs; and how to save time and money by streamlining data management. A comprehensive two day exhibit of related products and services runs December 6-7, 2006. AEC-ST Federal is also co-located with Ecobuild Federal which explores green building, sustainability, and environmental planning issues.
Through a special agreement between AUGI and Ecobuild Federal, CAD Camp participants will receive a bonus FREE AEC-ST Federal Exhibit Admission. This pass includes four keynote addresses running Dec. 6-7, 2006. Two are focused on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and two on IT and Sustainable Design.
Ecobuild Federal principal, George Borkovich, explains, “We are very excited that AUGI has chosen to hold CAD Camp -- Washington, D.C. with us at AEC-ST Federal. This is the first time a CAD Camp has ever been offered inside the famous ‘Beltway’ so we expect there will be a pent-up demand for a record crowd on hand. Our partnership makes it convenient for design professionals to get the most out of their time and investment by attending multiple events in one location.”
AUGI’s Business Development & Marketing Director Starr Hill-Bennett adds, “We are extremely delighted to be partnering with Ecobuild for the AEC Science & Technology Federal Conference and to be coming to the Washington DC metro area. One of the main AUGI CAD Camps goals is to locally bring and deliver top design technology training across the country and our similar target audience makes this a not to be missed event”.
