EngATech is selected as one of Tulsa's top firms
As seen in the Tulsa Business Journal Issue on August 1, 2011
Tulsa workers
spoke up and selected their 20 favorite job sites in the Tulsa
Business Journal’s Employees’ Choice: Tulsa’s Best Places to
Work program.
With more than 700 surveys submitted in the nomination and
qualification process, all of these firms definitely count as
Tulsa employees’ favorites.
The TBJ launched Employees’ Choice: Tulsa’s Best Places to Work
to identify the area’s top workplaces as selected by employees
who completed a 20-question survey at tulsabusiness.com. |
|
The firms were grouped
into categories based on number of employees and ranked by the overall
satisfaction rating recorded in the survey, which captured employees’
attitudes about a number of workplace factors, including benefits,
professional and personal growth opportunities, health programs, company
communications, promotion opportunities, pay, work/personal life
balance, and work culture. The survey responses ranged from 1, for
‘least satisfied,’ to 5, for ‘most satisfied.’ The final employee
satisfaction rating also includes bonus points awarded for benefits
offered above the norm.
Tulsa's Best Places to Work — 5-24
Employees
1) Integrated Business Technologies
Employee Satisfaction Rating: 4.973
The firms' philosophy:
We continually try to improve
ourselves and we ask for everyone’s feedback on a regular basis. One
thing we started last year was to ask everyone what they needed and
wanted that would help them do their job better. It was an eye
opening exercise for us as we saw requests ranging from needing
three monitors so they could better juggle their workload to wanting
a pool table so they could relax when stressed.
– Eric Kehmeier, managing partner
Staff comments:
"(It’s a) nurturing environment.
Owners and management listen. They take ideas seriously from
employees. They are completely transparent."
"IBT has the greatest people, and they all have a common goal;
everyone here wants IBT to succeed. Our customers are important to
us, and we go out of our way to let them know they are. There is
opportunity to grow and to advance in your career here."
2) Program Management Group
Employee Satisfaction Rating: 4.815
The firms' philosophy:
It sounds trite but our employees
are the ambassadors for PMg. As a services firm, they are PMg. If we
don’t value them and their contributions, we have no company. What
makes us different is we talk the talk AND we walk the walk. We
honestly appreciate our staff, who they are as individuals and their
input to our company.
– Kirby Crowe, owner and managing director
Staff comments:
"Everyone is valued and treated with respect.
Our leadership is focused on business the right way: positive
relationships with our clients and vendors. Everybody wins. It is a
great team environment with the expectation of performance and the
latitude to do so. Pay is fair, and the benefits are excellent."
3)
EngATech
Employee Satisfaction Rating: 4.781
The firms' philosophy:
My employees know I put them first before the customer, and serving
the customer before money. They have seen this in the decisions I
have made to support and defend them, as well as doing what is right
over what is profitable in many occasions.
– Clay Slaton, founder and CEO
Staff comments:
"The EngATech mission statement starts with "To help others" and
that is exactly what they do. They help other companies grow and
they help their employees grow. You have the opportunity to learn
from mentorship, and they invest in their employees more than any
other company I've worked for."
"You also have an opportunity to give back to the community through
different organizations, EngATech sponsors."
"The management here is amazing. We don't consider ourselves
different levels such as owner, management and employee. We consider
ourselves a team. Each and every job here is highly important and we
couldn't achieve the things we have if it wasn't for each
individual."
4) The Rowland Group
Employee Satisfaction Rating: 4.76
The firms'
philosophy:
Our team synergy is the key to our success. Everyone appreciates and
enjoys the uniqueness of each individual on our team. We see people
everyday who aren’t happy at work, so maybe that’s why we don’t take
our work environment for granted. We create a positive culture, are
passionate about what we do, and care about the people around us.
Integrity, Performance and Quality are our core values. We believe
that hard work can still be fun. For example, today I saw a group of
team members running outside my window shooting each other with
water pistols. They had been working diligently all the morning and
decided to take a break in the scorching hot weather. When they get
results and have fun, it’s hard not to smile.
– Lynn Flinn, president and managing partner
Staff comments:
"The people are so great. They come
in every day with a positive attitude and are eager to help you be
successful. Management does everything they can to help each
employee be the very best they can be!"
"The team atmosphere. The way everyone works together for results,
yet has a great time doing it. Very few places have this kind of
support within the office. You know you can always get help when you
need it and that everyone takes pride in their work."
"It is rewarding to help clients solve staffing issues and
candidates achieve career success.
Wonderful work environment, with very supportive
managers and leadership, excellent salary and benefits, great
teamwork, fun work."

Woolslayer Company

The firms' philosophy:
In my view, it’s all about developing a “Golden Rule” work
culture. I once read that employee job satisfaction boils down
to only two key elements; fair compensation and, even more
important, feeling appreciated. At Lee C. Moore, treating fellow
workers with respect and dignity is required by all as an
“essential job function”.
