Tulsa, OK, (February 2009) - When QuikWater Systems, a water-heating technology specialist, upgraded to SolidWorks 3D modeling software, they chose EngATech for their customized SolidWorks installation, support, and consulting services.

"EngATech helped us get SolidWorks set up, walked us through how to customize the software for our needs, and made the software more efficient." said Aaron Ritchie, mechanical engineer with QuikWater.

EngATech researched how QuikWater would use the software, and tailored the SolidWorks installation for them. They set up custom formats for assembly files, parts files, and drawing files with default spots in them for information such as work order, customer name, and internal drawing numbers.

SolidWorks 3D Modeling Software and EngATech's consulting services helped streamline QuikWater's workflow. Their direct-contact water heater designs included patterns cut into sheet metal. In the past, bends and breaks in the design would cause problems.

"Before, we were doing part of the process by hand, translating machine information to hand information and coordinating with machinery in the shop," said Ritchie. "There's another level of mistakes you can make there."

"Now we're able to get the design information to the shop floor a lot better," he said. "With SolidWorks, we don't have difficulty getting the information from the 3D model to the shop floor. We can make flat patterns that can be exported to the machines."

EngATech's commitment and dedication throughout the installation process impressed QuikWater.

"The tech stayed till 7:00 in the evening," said Ritchie, "We had three stations with the software, and he wanted to make sure SolidWorks was set up correctly at each one, rather than just set one up and hit the road."
